Discussion Topic: Joint Property Ownership…
Convenor: Lynne
Participants: Anthea, Dee and Annmarie

What are our requirements for any property consideration?

“Vacation” idea…in the mountains (out of the heat)… lots of open space

Need to define the parameters of ownership

Do we want it to have a “business”/money-making aspect?

Some parts of property would be private… some communal… some live-in… some only occasional… visitors

Esthetics… Uses…

GARDENS… HORSES… MEDITATION SPACE… DINING TOGETHER… POOL/SPA/SAUNA space… PRIVATE LIVING SPACE… ART STUDIO… ENTERTAINMENT CENTER (big screen TV system, pool table, library, card/game playing space, etc.)…

Discussion Topic: Nature group
Convenor: John
attended, Anthea & Robert

Nature works well when left alone
Nature works poorly when "we" change it
Most of society appears to work "unnaturally"
Community Property...90% permanent easement, 10% community
"We will do no harm to anything"...where are the lines drawn?
We will be attracted to other communities that meet our philosophy, "our rules"
We would need to agree on how nature works
Creation = thoughts, words and actions
Do we live with nature independent of the world?
Larger communities may work more efficiently....someone is always willing to perform inconvenient tasks.
Money...unnatural, but required
Community may decide to find ways to exist without money or use as little as possible
Natural essentials...shelter, food, water
We must be aware of "inclusion"... inclusions mean that there are also exclusions

Conclusions... Base a community on how nature works as best we can, and, choose what works and what does not work.

Discussion Topic: Existing Communities - why not simply join them rather than build it ourselves?

Convenor: Daniel
Scribe: Daniel & Lynne
Participants: Lynne, Susan, BJ

What is the deeper desire behind my dream for a community?

  • feeling and sensing belonging
  • generate & experience peace
  • global village
  • living oneness
  • be with people who have the same desire, feeling etc.
  • longing to be part of something bigger
  • joining existing communities may open us to a LARGER CONTEXT
  • integral - deepening awareness that our local action is mking a difference
  • build a tangible field of oneness
  • connecting to connections

Is our intention:

  1. family centric?
  2. tribe centric ?
  3. global centric?

We are interested in an "inclusive network of communities".

Existing communities that we talked about:
